Whole School Curriculum Map
Elms School curriculum model is Knowledge Engaged and Elms School has created a bespoke curriculum that adheres to the National Curriculum.
All subject specialist have mapped their Knowledge and Skill from year 1 to year 11. The combination of the bespoke curriculum, mapped knowledge and Skills has allowed us the opportunity to build our own assessment tracker that measures the rates of progress made by our pupils within our curriculum. The KSent algorithm predicts future targets from baselining.
The main aim of the curriculum design was focused on pupils' engagement within the context of our specialist setting.
Our intention has always been to ensure that all our pupils have access to a full curriculum entitlement regardless of their EHCP.
Our teachers are committed to providing targetted differentiation to include every pupil thus meeting the statutory requirements of the Equality Act 2010 and SEND 2014.
The school has its own bespoke careers programme ensuring inclusion and equality with CEIAG advice within the KSent special school alliance. The inclusiveness of the careers programme ensure a secure post 16 transfer to another learning route.
