Nurture Pathway

Some of our students face significant social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, which can make it challenging for them to access the Key Stage 4 curriculum in the usual way. To support these students, we offer a Nurture Pathway that provides a more class-based approach to learning. Students in this pathway may receive all or part of their lessons within a smaller, supportive environment. The teaching is planned in collaboration with subject teachers to ensure it meets individual learning needs.

Within the Nurture Pathway, students work towards Entry Level Exams. These qualifications are tailored to their abilities, providing them with realistic and achievable goals. This approach helps students build confidence in their skills while preparing for future opportunities, including further education or employment.

The Nurture Pathway is designed with input from each student’s Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). Timetables are arranged individually to meet the unique needs of every student, ensuring they receive the right balance of support, challenge, and personal development opportunities. This personalised approach helps students feel valued and supported as they work towards their outcomes.
