Engagement in Home Learning
Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you for your continued support during this difficult time. We have approximately 27% of pupils attending the site each day, with the remainder at home. Of these, around 81% are engaging with the home learning/remote teaching activities. Thank you so much for encouraging your child to do the home learning activities. We have many children accessing teaching via Teams while others are working through the paper packs.
There are about 19% of the pupils at home who are not engaging in any learning. Please could you encourage them to do some of the work and, if you need further support, please contact your child’s teacher to discuss your child returning to school. I can only authorise the absence if children are working at home as this is not a holiday! Teachers will do all they can to encourage your child to participate and we will support with technology where we can, although we do not have any spare laptops available at the moment. However, we can send paper work packs out to your home with any stationery items needed.
At the moment, the government is unable to say when schools will reopen, however, Elms remains open for any child wishing to access a place, providing they have no Covid-19 symptoms and providing their individual Risk Assessment allows for this. Please get in touch if there is anything else we can do to support you.
Finally, thank you for the positive feedback regarding our parent survey. We are still adding up the final star rating but I am delighted that so many of you are happy with our offer during this time.
Thank you again for your support.
Stay safe!
